If at First You Dont Succeed, You Failed.
The most pathetic teacher in life lessons is without a doubt Success. There really isn't much to learn at all when it comes to success. Over and above the cheerful clinking of champagne glasses and convivial exchanges of pleasantries and congratulatory adulation, success is like that professor that only shows up - for the first time ever - for his class on the day of his pupil's graduation to givea them sincere pats-on-the-back for having been such good students throughout their academic tenure. Success tends to render people oblivious or perhaps easily forgetful of the events and challenges leading up to and preparing a seat for success at the table - like the possibility that you might have failed and repeated two of your semesters, and have been no more than five-minutes-to being mentally institutionalized because you had to self-educate on the Mathematics of Change and Motion (also known as Calculus) while also failing to instantaneously comprehend the Theory of Evolution. You overcame all the dreadful experiences all through the power of your will, determination and resilience, yet we focus only on celebrating the end goal and so easily forget to celebrate the not-so-shiny failures that are actually the forebearers of success itself.
We come to realise that in reality, the greatest teacher and strongest lessons learned have always lied in our biggest disappointments and defeats. Life's greatest teacher is indeed Failure – whose protégés are trials and tribulations which are birthed in the belly of pain and suffering at the depths of life’s lowest lows. Failure is very much undervalued and misconceived. It is truly impossible to neither acquire a taste for success nor enjoy its benefits without attending failure’s master class, where being defeated over your goals and being left with feelings of self-doubt, shame, anxiety and anger are prerequisite – just to name a few hard-pills within failures curriculum. Whichever way it is vilified and much deplored, Failure only seeks to bring us into full awareness of the unbelievable truth that we are vigorous and resilient beyond what we measure of ourselves. We can all agree to a great degree that failure is a realistic and probable occurrence in any undertaking. Thus, the next time you are a failure at anything to which you have undertaken, remember that you are most probably going to fail (again) on the next time you try to undertake anything, however, be not dismayed as this is the secret to graduating at the top of failure’s cunning class. For the sweet taste of success, one must unrelentingly keep trying again and again with every shot still remaining and until you fully understand and aknowledge Failure’s lessons on the requirements behind the “mathematics of change and motion” required to bring about success. Failure seems sure that we are very much adept for success and it seeks only to reaffirm and solidify our convictions. We must desist of retreating from our passions for the fear of failure; neither should we let our accomplishments succumb to death under the shame of having failed at something.
Like taking class from an imperceptible and paradoxical teacher, to consciously draw important lessons forged out of failure is a sure-fire sign of imminent success for the one who dares still show up for class taught by an inharmonious yet incredibly empowering teacher: Failure.
