The last couple of weeks I've read so often about that SaaS is dead. Such BS. Obviously AI is changing the landscape… but it’s for the better in my opinion.
Is it a challenge for those SaaS subscriptions that charge you a few K a month for some essential need, and you feel robbed? Absolutely, because here the cost often outweighs the benefit, and getting rid of a high cost subscription has a high motivation.
But for essential services that everyone needs anyway and just cost a few bucks per user … the little app you pay 20EUR for a month and just get real value out of … nope, those will, in fact, not be dead.
Because vibe coding something together that costs peanuts, for the pain of maintenance and long-term development, is just not worth it.
So, the way I see it, AI commoditizes the writing of software, and it’s a good time to create specialized products and SaaS offerings, that you might not have had on your radar before, because the time to get the side project off the ground was too much. Not anymore.
Now it’s about creativity. And the biggest learning, that a lot of people will have now … building something meaningful is still a skill!
On that, something to celebrate - Gitlab passed a big mark in ARR.

Things to share
An AI Newsletter worth reading
I got swamped by so many newsletters, but through all the noise there’s one that stuck out and I actually read. In general ther’’s so much content, everything fighting for our attention. So it’s good to find something that is worth your attention (besides this newsletter here, I hope 😬)

Cool project I stumbled over that promises (and actually seems to work) to reduce the token spend.

Hope you’ll appreciate it.
That’s it for this week (sorry I missed last one … somehow I don’t know why time passes so fast). Until next time.
Stay nerdy.
Best,
