Film Recommendation

Writing out to you all in the depths of a FOMO-induced stupor, as my colleague Hannah Strong sups extra-strength spritzes and gets to see the cream of world cinema on a little crescent of sand on the outskirts of Venice. Of course, if you’re keeping up with our coverage (Opens in a new window) (which you should be!) all these will make for ample future viewing fodder.

In the spirit of the fact that a new Guillermo del Toro film (Opens in a new window) has premiered on the Lido, I thought it might be nice for us all to do a bit of deep research and hark back to that shortish window when he was working as a studio gun-for-hire.
