Film Recommendation

This has been a fun week at LWLies Towers, as finally we know all the films that will play at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival (Opens in a new window). For some, it’s the opportunity to do some due diligence – that is, to catch up with some of the early films by those filmmakers who will be presenting new work to the world. I’m personally very excited for a new film by the Argentinean filmmaker Lisandro Alonso, who made a name for himself in the early ’00s with a stripped-back form of hushed and oblique minimalism before shifting more recently into overtly experimental work.
