My dog had surgery almost three years ago. I was very worried about the healing process beforehand—but everything went smoothly. No infection, no removal of stitches, because they just disappeared on their own. Simply wow. Now, U.S. researchers have developed new sutures for humans that contain anti-inflammatory medication to promote healing. More on that in today’s edition!

U.S. researchers have developed medical sutures that release anti-inflammatory drugs directly into the tissue. The threads consist of polymer nanofibers with embedded active ingredients. Primary forests store more CO2 than previously thought
Primary forests are powerful climate protectors: they store significantly more $CO_2$ than managed forests, especially in the soil. Antimatter on the move: Successful transport for the first time
A premiere at CERN: For the first time, researchers have transported antimatter outside of a laboratory—five kilometers across the facility. A specialized container protected the antiparticles.
