Abdellah Taïas endlich nun auch auf Deutsch erschienene "Die Bastion der Tränen" ist ein Roman wie ein offenes Gedächtnis: poetisch, schmerzhaft, fragmentarisch. Nach dem Tod seiner Mutter kehrt Youssef aus Frankreich in seine marokkanische Heimatstadt Salé zurück – und begegnet dort den Wunden von Herkunft, Familie, Homosexualität, Exil und gesellschaftlicher Enge.
