What a break

It’s been around a week, that CIRCLES & SQUARES (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) was released. And since then I’m watching myself and notice what this day means to an album, means to an artist.
For about two years there were at first one, then two, three … and in the end thirteen songs – some fell out the air and landed right on my lap (as Peter Gabriel once said) and some were tricky and stubborn and refused to be nailed down. But whatever writing process – it was just between them and me. Just the song and me.

Most of the time it was dark around us because as probably most small artists there’s a day time job beside so the two of us began our relationship in a quite intimate mood.

Early January 2026. There was a bunch of files. I had listened to all of them like a hundred times, trying to find the perfect moment between “of course there’s something to optimize“ and “there’s a point to decide: ready“.
I decided: Ready. Thirteen times. And I uploaded the files on my distributer’s website and chose the 26th as the release day.

Waiting.

For God’s sake no more listening. Unimaginable to find a mistake within these days and not to be able to correct it.

On the morning of 26th a quick look to at profile on the main streaming platforms. Exciting to see it there.
Listen to the whole album from 1-13. Relieve: all good, no mistakes, everything fine.

And then the songs belonged to all of you.
After two years wher it was just them and me now we’re talking about promo, statistics, incoming links, thoughts of the first listeners.
Now they’re out in the world.
