Porto is making public transportation free for all of its residents. The goal is to reduce the number of cars in the city. The cost is estimated at 20 to 25 million euros, which could be financed through higher tourist taxes. Swab test detects oral cancer in record time
Oral cancer is often detected late, and diagnoses have traditionally been invasive. Researchers from the UK and India have studied a non-invasive testing method in which a brush swab is analyzed for molecular changes. Volunteer fishing patrols protect the waters of Cabo Verde
For ten years, nearly 200 fishermen in Cabo Verde have been volunteering in the ""Guardians of the Sea"" program. During their daily work at sea, the fishermen document illegal practices as well as rare marine life.
