EU approves first medication for postpartum depression, AI can predict up to 20 years into the future

September 20 is World Cleanup Day—people around the world collect trash on this day. Last year, 114 million people in over 211 countries took part. In line with this, today we highlight a project actively fighting waste: in Marseille, a diving robot collected trash from the Mediterranean for the first time. EU approves first medication for postpartum depression

The European Commission has approved, for the first time, a medication for postpartum depression. The drug, Zuranolone, can alleviate depressive symptoms within just two weeks. However, it should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Until now, there was no approved treatment for postpartum depression. Source: DIARI NEWS

Health: AI can predict up to 20 years into the future

Researchers have developed an AI model that can independently analyze medical records and generate personalized health forecasts. In initial tests, Delphi-2M predicted individuals’ health up to 20 years into the future. Privacy issues will need to be addressed before it can be used clinically. Source: EL PAÍS

Police rescue 700 animals – biggest crackdown on wildlife trafficking in brazil

Monkeys, snakes, jaguars, and more: Police in Rio de Janeiro have rescued over 700 wild animals from the illegal trade. Italy cracks down harder on fake AI images

In Italy, anyone who publishes AI-generated photos or videos without the consent of the person depicted could face up to five years in prison. Diving robot removes trash from the Mediterranean for the first time

In the port of Marseille, an AI-powered diving robot has, for the first time, collected trash from the Mediterranean Sea. It independently identified waste on the seabed and brought it to the surface with its robotic arms. The debris was then transferred to a small boat serving as a floating collection point.
