Fingolfin's Findings XXXI: Stephen R. Donaldson on Tolkien

The Facebook group of the Tolkien Society is the place for the occasional nugget of interesting information and David Charlton wrote a short post (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre), starting it off with a quote from Stephen R. Donaldson:

"Tolkien restored our right to dream epic dreams."

I thought I'd look up the text in question and see for myself what Donaldson of The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)-fame had to say.
