Episode 1, The Midlife Man
A warm welcome folks to the first espisode of my weekly newsletter „Midlife Man“! This is a historical moment- I finally made it happen! After countless nights without sleep I finally knew what I wanted to write about: People like me i.e., men in their 30’s and 40’s. Let’s dive right into the first episode and investigate what a midlife man is and why we should build a strong community supporting each other. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I do writing.

I am 36 yrs old, living in Germany, being married, having a dog and no children yet. We life in a flat because a house in the city is unaffordable unless you inherited a ridiculous amount of money, won the lottery or started „morning brew“. I work in a sales department trying to make the most out of my career.
I would consider myself a stereotype for this newsletter: A man in his 30’s to 40’s who tries to hold track in the so-called rush hour of life. This crucial section is described as follows:
1) Rush hour of life decisions mainly affect university graduates. Within a short period of 5 to 7 years, decisions are often taken at the same time on career entry and establishment as on shared households, marriage and family formation.
2) The rush hour in the phase when people are raising young children describes the intense burden of work and family on fathers and mothers. This is exhibited quantitatively in the occupational, domestic and family working hours as well as in resulting conflicts to do justice to all these areas of life.

Folks, I must admit this sounds kind of scary to me. But I hope that this newsletter eases your mind in case you feel the same. I hope it gives you the feeling of being part of a bigger community.
I will share my thoughts and (personal) experiences on all topics that might bother you as well. This can be anything related to family, children, friendship, fitness, hobbys, jobs, cars or receding hair. Fingers crossed you like my writing style. I am confident that writing on things with a wink of the eyes is what get you best through the rush hour of life.
Please feel free to share and subsribe to my newsletter. Thank you for your support and becoming part of our community!
