I start this at a time of increasing pressure and hostility toward independent reporters, analysts, and thinkers. This page exists to support reporting, analysis, and responsible expression of ideas, pursued with care and editorial independence, free from political or commercial pressure.
Support helps make it possible to continue this work with the time, care, and editorial independence it requires.
Here, I primarily share analysis and reporting on hybrid warfare, disinformation, and authoritarian influence — particularly where these forces target democratic societies in the Western Balkans, Ukraine, and across Europe.
This kind of work takes time, care, and independence. It is not always easy to maintain, particularly in the Western Balkans and in the country I come from, North Macedonia.
Together with my colleagues from CIVIL (civil.today (Si apre in una nuova finestra), civilmedia.mk (Si apre in una nuova finestra), drejt.mk (Si apre in una nuova finestra)) and Frontline.mk (Si apre in una nuova finestra), I work on journalism that does not take instructions from power centres. We follow facts, verify them carefully, and publish them responsibly. Because of this, our work — including our daily reporting on Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022 — has often attracted pressure, smear campaigns, hate and death threats, and legal intimidation.
This work has also been recognized internationally, including with the Order of Merit (Si apre in una nuova finestra) from the President of Ukraine and the Solidarity Award (Si apre in una nuova finestra) for Journalists of Southeast Europe.
Silence is frequently expected. Silence is often encouraged.
And silence is exactly what we are not prepared to deliver.
The front lines of conflict and authoritarian power are no longer only geographic or military. They run through information systems, institutions, media, economies, and everyday public life. This space reflects that shift — treating politics, hybrid warfare, and democracy not as separate fields, but as interlinked dimensions of the same reality.
That is why this space exists.
It is about supporting the conditions in which serious, independent journalism can continue – thoughtfully, responsibly, and without compromise.
Here, I will share notes and context behind reports and analysis on ongoing developments, or insights that do not always fit into formal reporting.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for being part of a community that values independent journalism and democratic accountability.
