The Beauty of the Divine Leela (VK 16.2)

Vilapa-kusumanjali, verse 16, part 2 | Lecture by Pratibha Goswami

In this intimate lecture, we explore Vilapa-kusumanjali verse 16.2, where Raghunath das Goswami expresses the deepest longing of the manjari's heart. Guided by Ananta das Babaji Maharaj’s commentary, we enter the mood of a devotee who desires nothing but the smallest service at Srimati Radhika’s lotus feet.

This verse reveals the essence of pure humility—the heart of a seva-dasi whose only happiness is found in Radha’s joy.

Through beautiful lilas, we witness Radha and Krishna’s playful dice game, their first meeting, and the distinct roles of sakhis and manjaris in Vraja.

This session opens a doorway into the world of raganuga-bhakti, where identity and devotion deepen into spontaneous loving service.

To listen to the leelas (pastimes) of Radha and Krishna is an exceptional practice. By contemplating and meditating on the scene while being told, the spiritual practitioner can tune in to the feelings of the Divine Couple. Pratibha Goswami is explaining the leela in a sweet and imaginative manner. So it is easy to catch the spiritual sentiments and have an experience of divine rapture (rasa).
