Na, wie läuft’s? Der letzte Newsletter ist eine Weile her: Ich war in der Zwischenzeit im Urlaub, hab einen Job gesucht, gefunden und angefangen, und meine Social-Media-Aktivitäten dank einer App, die meine Bildschirmzeit effektiv blockt, ziemlich runtergefahren. Aber dir will ich natürlich trotzdem ein paar kleine Updates aus den letzten Monaten schicken.
EN — So, how’s it going? It’s been a while since the last newsletter: in the meantime I went on vacation, looked for a job, found one and started working, and cut back significantly on my social media use thanks to an app that effectively blocks my screen time. But of course, I still want to send you a few small updates from the past months.
(Abre numa nova janela)Eine Auszeichnung für den Kalender „Aus der Bahn!“
Im März hab ich meinen Tagebuch-Kalender „Aus der Bahn!“ veröffentlicht und ich bin wirklich sehr dankbar über die breite positive Resonanz. Besonders gefreut hat mich die Unterstützung der Stiftung Buchkunst: Im Juni hat sie den Kalender im „Förderpreis für junge Buchgestaltung 2025“ mit einem Platz auf der Shortlist gewürdigt. Von Juli bis August wurde er im einBuchhaus in Berlin (Abre numa nova janela) ausgestellt (das Bild oben stammt von dort, danke an Hyemi Cho (Abre numa nova janela) dafür!). Und jetzt, in diesem Moment, liegt er auf der Frankfurter Buchmesse am Stand der Stiftung Buchkunst aus. Das waren sehr schöne Erfahrungen.
Ah, den Kalender gibt es natürlich auch noch zu kaufen, zum Beispiel in meinem Shop (Abre numa nova janela).
EN — An award for the calendar “Aus der Bahn!” — In March I released my diary calendar “Aus der Bahn!” and I’m really grateful for the wide, positive response. I was especially happy about the support from the Stiftung Buchkunst (German Book Art Foundation): in June, they honored the calendar with a spot on the shortlist for the “Förderpreis für junge Buchgestaltung 2025” (Young Book Design Award 2025). From July to August, it was exhibited at einBuchhaus in Berlin (Abre numa nova janela) (the photo above is from there, thanks to Hyemi Cho (Abre numa nova janela) for it!). And right now, at this very moment, it’s on display at the Stiftung Buchkunst booth at Frankfurt Book Fair. All in all, very nice experiences.
Oh, and of course the calendar is still available to buy, for example in my shop (Abre numa nova janela).
Arbeit am [untitled card game]
Im Moment arbeite ich an zwei neuen Projekten: Zum einen an einem umfangreichen Buchprojekt, das wahrscheinlich erst Ende nächsten Jahres erscheinen wird, und zum anderen an einem Kartenspiel, das ich gerade in freien Stunden teste. Genauer gesagt ist es ein kompaktes Kartensystem, mit dem sich viele verschiedene Arten von Spielen spielen lassen. Von schnellen Reaktions-, Gedächtnis- oder Puzzlespielen bis hin zu strategischeren Brettspielen. Vor allem aber soll es dazu anregen, eigene Spiele zu erfinden. Die Idee basiert auf einem zehn Jahre alten Semesterprojekt aus meinem Studium, das ich über den Sommer wieder ausgegraben und weiterentwickelt hab. Oben siehst du einen Mockup der aktuellen Kartendummies, mit denen ich teste. Mein Ziel ist es, ein kleines Repertoire an neun unterschiedlichen Startspielen auszuarbeiten, die gut funktionieren und Spaß machen, dann werde ich es in einer kleinen Auflage streuen und evtl. an Publisher schicken.
EN — Working on [untitled card game] — Right now I’m working on two new projects: one is an extensive book project that probably won’t be out until late next year, and the other is a card game I’m currently testing in my free time. More specifically, it’s a compact card system that can be used to play many different kinds of games — from quick reaction, memory, or puzzle games to more strategic board games. Above all, though, it’s meant to encourage people to invent their own games. The idea is based on a ten-year-old semester project from my studies, which I dug back up and further developed over the summer. Above you can see a mockup of the current card dummies I’m testing with. My goal is to work out a small repertoire of nine different starter games that function well and are fun to play and then I’ll distribute it in a small print run and possibly send it to publishers.
(Abre numa nova janela)Vor ein paar Monaten, im Juni, als ich meinen Instagram-Konsum stark runtergeregelt hab, hat sich mein Gehirn gedacht, es erschließt mal ’ne neue Plattform, wo man vielleicht auch Dopamin bekommt. Also hab ich mich auf LinkedIn angemeldet (und natürlich auch, weil ich einen Job gesucht hab). So richtig viel Dopamin gibt’s da zwar nicht, aber du kannst dich trotzdem gerne dort mit mir vernetzen (Abre numa nova janela).
EN — LinkedIn — A few months ago, in June, when I was cutting way back on my Instagram use, my brain apparently decided it was time to explore a new platform where I might also get some dopamine. So I signed up for LinkedIn (and, of course, also because I was job hunting). There isn’t really that much dopamine to be found there, but feel free to connect with me (Abre numa nova janela) anyway.
