Today brought more good news than we’ve had in a long time: Researchers have developed an oat-protein supplement that can combat iron deficiency far more effectively than conventional treatments. England is taking action against clogged sewers and polluted waterways — starting in 2027, wet wipes containing plastic will be banned. And that’s not all: more hopeful developments await in today’s edition.

Researchers at ETH Zurich have created an oat-protein supplement that can correct iron deficiency much more effectively than traditional products. In studies, the body absorbed up to 76 percent more iron — and tolerated it better. Source: TECHNOLOGY NETWORKS

Ethiopia plants 30 billion trees in five years
Since 2019, Ethiopia has been running the national “Green Legacy Initiative,” aimed at restoring degraded landscapes. In the past five years, more than 30 billion seedlings have been planted. The reforestation effort helps reduce drought and erosion, creates habitats for wildlife, and generates new jobs, for example in tree nurseries. Source: DW

Insulin Patch Could Replace Injections
A new carrier molecule could soon make insulin injections obsolete: Researchers have succeeded in transporting insulin through the skin purely chemically — no needles required. England Bans Plastic Wet Wipes Starting in 2027

Roblox Introduces New Age-Verification to Protect Kids
The online gaming platform Roblox is introducing mandatory age verification for its chat feature. Users will have to confirm their age via live photo, video, or ID to prevent adults from contacting children unnoticed. Around 111 million people use the platform every day. Source: CNN
