Playing with a New Lens - Just for Fun

Sometimes photography is not about big projects or deep concepts – sometimes it’s simply about playing. Recently, I bought myself a creative lens, the Reflectlens SUPERNOVA I with an adapter, just because I was curious. No sponsoring, no collaboration, no commercial deal – I paid around 90 € for it and wanted to see what happens when I put it on my camera.

So, I went out to Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera, close to where I live, and started to experiment. Street photography with a toy that was probably designed more for studio portraits – why not? I wanted to explore new techniques, find new ways to take street photos, and simply have fun.

The results? A mix of surprising effects, playful distortions, and a lot of laughter. It’s not a lens I will use every day, but in the right mood and occasion, it’s a great creative tool. Perfect for portraits, but also with potential for the streets when you want to shake things up.

Experimentieren mit einem Aufsatz – einfach zum Spaß

Manchmal geht es beim Fotografieren nicht um große Projekte oder um tiefgründige Konzepte. Manchmal geht es einfach nur ums Spielen. Vor Kurzem habe ich mir aus reiner Neugier ein kreatives Objektiv gekauft, das Reflectlens SUPERNOVA I mit Adapter. Kein Sponsoring, keine Zusammenarbeit, kein kommerzieller Deal – ich habe rund 90 € dafür bezahlt und wollte sehen, was passiert, wenn ich es auf meine Kamera setze.

Also bin ich nach Juan-les-Pins an der Côte d’Azur gefahren, ganz in der Nähe meines Wohnorts, und habe angefangen zu experimentieren. Straßenfotografie mit einem Spielzeug, das eigentlich eher für Studioporträts gedacht ist – warum nicht? Ich wollte neue Techniken ausprobieren, neue Wege der Straßenfotografie finden und einfach Spaß haben.

Das Ergebnis? Eine Mischung aus überraschenden Effekten, verspielten Verzerrungen und Gelächter. Es ist keine Linse, die ich jeden Tag benutze, aber in der richtigen Stimmung und zum richtigen Anlass ist es ein großartiges kreatives Werkzeug. Perfekt für Porträts, aber auch mit Potenzial für die Straße, wenn man mal etwas Abwechslung braucht.

Manchmal geht es beim Fotografieren nicht um „besser“ – es geht um „anders“. Darum, offen, neugierig und spielerisch zu bleiben.
