Film Recommendation

This has been a fun week at LWLies Towers, as finally we know all the films that will play at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival (Öffnet in neuem Fenster). For some, it’s the opportunity to do some due diligence – that is, to catch up with some of the early films by those filmmakers who will be presenting new work to the world. I’m personally very excited for a new film by the Argentinean filmmaker Lisandro Alonso, who made a name for himself in the early ’00s with a stripped-back form of hushed and oblique minimalism before shifting more recently into overtly experimental work.
