I suspect a lot of you fine members will be heading to the cinema this weekend to catch the latest offering from “legendary” filmmaker Steven Spielberg. Cynical though I am about the value of Disclosure Day, I would say that it is worth seeing, if only to truly understand how great filmmakers can fall on creatively moribund times.
I was trying to think what the last truly great Spielberg film was, one that would be up there in his personal canon. And I ended up heading right back to the beginning of the century, to 2001’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
