Baeza (Opens in a new window) is a small town in the south of Spain with a population of about 16,000 inhabitants. In the course of its history it became a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church, has a university and offers some incredibly fine architecture from the 16th century, including its cathedal, several churches, and a palace. Its twin city in France is Carcassone (Opens in a new window) and this should give you an idea what to expect (particularly if you like the amazing boardgame (Opens in a new window).) Not much of a surprise that Baeza was added to the World Heritage List of the UNESCO in 2003 under the heading of Renaissance Monumental Ensembles of Úbeda and Baeza (Opens in a new window).
