Fingolfin's Findings: XVIII. George Allen & Unwin Ltd. Archive at the University of Reading

Given the fact I recently did the review of A Remembrancer (Opens in a new window) it does not come as a surprise that I would like to put this particular link as another #FingoFind. 

As Brian Ryder noted in his The George Allen and Unwin Collection: Reading University Library:

All but one letter from J.R.R. Tolkien have gone elsewhere (...) thanks to the carelessness of the filing clerk.

And that letter is (Opens in a new window) 

(...) from Rayner Unwin to J.R.R. Tolkien informing him that he has  won the International Fantasy Award for 1956/7 and is due to be presented with 'a 2 foot high chromium rocket incorporating a Ronson  lighter'.

Now, you would say that does not sound like a great source after all, right? Well, that is not quite true, for two reasons, if you ask me:
