We’re offering 5 aspiring writers the chance to join BRICKS at a special event with the LGBTQIA+ author of new novel Disappoint Me and the Polari-prize-winning Bellies, Nicola Dinan.

With thanks to Spotify, we’re thrilled to offer 5 aspiring writers a place at Spotify’s In Conversation with Nicola Dinan, author of Bellies and Disappoint Me.

As part of Spotify’s Pride Month programming, the award-winning author will join Spotify Audiobooks Editor, Roshni Radia, for a fireside chat exploring the importance of LGBTQIA+ representation in literature, the nuances of writing trans characters from her perspective as a trans woman, and the power of authentic storytelling in both print and audio.

The event will dive into Nicola’s latest release, Disappoint Me (Abre numa nova janela) – available to listen to now on Spotify as part of Premium subscription’s 15 hours of audiobook listening – and uncover the creative process behind bringing her work to life through sound.

The evening will include an audience Q&A, opportunities to capture content for your social channels, and some exclusive merch to take home. This event is ideal for any aspiring authors and LGBTQIA+ writers looking to hear more about the writing and publishing process, and about overcoming challenges faced as a marginalised author. As there will be an audience Q&A, we encourage successful applicants to prepare questions for Nicola ahead of time.
