There is a certain chance that if you like Narnia or Middle-earth you will have seen one of her illustrations: Pauline Baynes. Born in 1922, Baynes is well known for her work for J.R.R. Tolkien's books, C.S. Lewis and her iconic rendition of the book cover for Richard Adams' Watership Down.
