Life and Works

Sept 3, 1953. Tolkien writes Letter 140b (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre), on ‘recording excerpts from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre).’
Sept 4, 1954. Tolkien writes letter 200a (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre), on ‘visit from Ackerman (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre), Zimmerman (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre), adaptation of Lord of the Rings (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre).’

Sept 6, 1973. A requiem Mass for Tolkien is held in the Church of St Anthony of Padua in Headington (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre), Oxford (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre). Father Robert Murray (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre) assists.
