Fingolfin's Findings: XVIII. George Allen & Unwin Ltd. Archive at the University of Reading

Given the fact I recently did the review of A Remembrancer (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre) it does not come as a surprise that I would like to put this particular link as another #FingoFind. 

As Brian Ryder noted in his The George Allen and Unwin Collection: Reading University Library:

All but one letter from J.R.R. Tolkien have gone elsewhere (...) thanks to the carelessness of the filing clerk.

And that letter is (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre) 

(...) from Rayner Unwin to J.R.R. Tolkien informing him that he has  won the International Fantasy Award for 1956/7 and is due to be presented with 'a 2 foot high chromium rocket incorporating a Ronson  lighter'.

Now, you would say that does not sound like a great source after all, right? Well, that is not quite true, for two reasons, if you ask me:
