A summer highlight for photography enthusiasts: La Gacilly-Baden Photo 2025

I have been privileged to be invited to the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival for the past two years, and this year I am here again!

I have been thrilled every time: the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival is Europe's largest outdoor photography festival. Over 1,500 images taken outdoors, along a 7-kilometer stretch through the beautiful town of Baden near Vienna. From June 13 to October 12, 2025, the whole town will once again become a gallery.

This year's theme, "Australia & New World," showcases striking works about our relationship with nature, from voodoo forests to algal blooms and volcanic villages. Names like Joel Meyerowitz, Ulla Lohmann, Brent Stirton, and many more are featured. In recent years, I spent an entire weekend speaking with the photographers for podcasts and interviews – fascinating people whom I consistently found to be open, concerned, and dedicated.

The energy, joy, commitment, and human warmth of the organizers and welcoming couple, Lois and Silvia Lammerhuber, are incredible. Thank you for the invitation again.

I am already looking so much forward to it!

My tipp:

If you are in Vienna, plan a day trip or a weekend in Baden. It is easy and quick to reach by train from Vienna. Admission to the festival is free, and the inspiration is priceless.

Ein Sommerhighlight für Fotoliebhaber: La Gacilly-Baden Photo 2025

Ich durfte schon die letzten zwei Jahre dabei sein, und auch diesmal bin ich wieder dabei. Es hat mich jedes Mal aufs Neue begeistert: das La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival, das größte Outdoor-Fotofestival Europas. Über 1.500 Bilder unter freiem Himmel, entlang von 7 Kilometern durch das schöne Städtchen Baden bei Wien. Vom 13. Juni bis 12. Oktober 2025 wird die ganze Stadt wieder zur Galerie.

Das diesjährige Thema “Australia & New World” zeigt eindrucksvolle Arbeiten über unsere Beziehung zur Natur, von Voodoo-Wäldern bis hin zu Algenblüten und Vulkandörfern. Namen wie Joel Meyerowitz, Ulla Lohmann, Brent Stirton und viele mehr sind mit dabei. Ich durfte in den letzten Jahren für Podcasts und Interviews mit den Fotografinnen und Fotografen ein ganzes Wochenende lang sprechen – spannende Menschen, die ich durchweg als offen, klug und engagiert wahrnahm.

Unglaublich sind die Energie, Freude, Engagement und die menschliche Wärme des einladenden Ehepaars. Lois und Silvia Lammerhuber organisieren und leiten das Festival.

Danke für die erneute Einladung, ich freue mich schon sehr! 

Mein Tipp:

Falls du in Wien bist, plane einen Tagesausflug oder ein Wochenende in Baden ein. Mit der Bahn leicht und schnell von Wien zu erreichen. Der Eintritt des Festivals ist frei, die Inspiration unbezahlbar.
