Why Krishna Forgets He Is God (VK 11.2)

In this lecture on Vilāpa-kusumāñjali verse 11.2, Pratibha Goswami speaks about Krishna not as God—but as the most deeply enchanted Beloved. Though he is the origin of Kāmadeva (Cupid/Pradyumna), he himself becomes captivated by the love of Śrī Rādhā.

🧡 In Vṛndāvan, no one sees Krishna as God. Not Yaśodā Mā, not the mañjarīs, not Rādhārāṇī.

They are immersed in mādhurya-bhāva—a love filled with intimacy and sweetness, free from the grandeur of aiśvarya.

🔹 Putanā sees Krishna as omniscient.

🔹 Rādhā sees him as forgetful and helpless.

🔹 Yaśodā sees only her darling son.

💫 Don’t miss the sweet līlā where Tulasī mañjarī scolds Krishna in a moment of love-play gone too far—and Rādhā lovingly "punishes" her with the gentle touch of her lotus foot.

🎙️ With poetry, laughter, and depth, this satsang touches the real heart of ragānugā-bhakti.

Special feature:

Leela: Radha kicks the forehead of Tulsi

Pratibha Goswami is elaborating and expanding the leela, that is mentioned by Ananta dās Bābājī in Vilāpa Kusumāñjali. Please close your eyes and meditate on the leela while listening to it (This process is called ›Rūpadhyāna‹).

From the commentary of Ananta das Babaji:
»This verse is connected with the revelation of a sweet pastime. In his spiritual identity of Tulasī Mañjarī, Śrī Raghunātha dāsa has brought Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa together in a lonely kuñja on the bank of Rādhā-kuṇḍa. How expert They are in Their sweet play! The empress of Vṛndāvana fulfills desires that Kṛṣṇa could not even dream of! Tulasī witnesses Their sweet pastimes through a hole in the wall of the nikuñja. After the love-play the enchanted Hero sits at Svāminī’s feet, staring at Her sweet face with unblinking eyes. Understanding that her time to serve has come, Tulasī enters into the kuñja. Kṛṣṇa holds Śrīmatī’s lotus feet to His chest and is stricken by symptoms of ecstatic love. kṛṣṇa-sukha-vilāsāra-nidhi: She is the jewel of Kṛṣṇa’s blissful pastimes. What a wonderful loving expertise! Kṛṣṇa’s limbs are studded with goosepimples, and tears of love flow from His eyes. His chest is moistened with sweatdrops, so the fragrant powder on His chest starts sticking on Svāminī’s footsoles. Seeing this, Tulasī giggles, covering her mouth with her hand. Seeing her laughing, Svāminī kicks fortunate Tulasī with Her foot, so that the fragrant powder from Kṛṣṇa’s chest adorns her head, making it worthy to be called her best and highest limb (uttamāṅga).«
