Most software engineering advice is based on one person's experience at one company. Software Insights is different.
I am Daniel Russo, Associate Professor of Software Engineering at Aalborg University. Each issue translates research into practical guidance for engineering leaders and senior developers: the people who make decisions about how teams work, not just what they build.
Every finding I report comes from published studies, with sample sizes, methodological context, and an honest assessment of what the evidence does (and does not) support. If the research is inconclusive, I say so. If two studies contradict each other, I show you both.
What you will find here:
1. What controlled studies actually say about AI code assistants, developer productivity, and technical debt
2. Evidence on AI research, team structures, complex systems, and engineering culture, separated from the anecdotes
3. Practical implications for your team, drawn from research rather than opinion
