It’s Friday

First of all, a quick thank you to everyone supporting Kplx on Patreon (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) and Steady (Öffnet in neuem Fenster). Your support allows me to keep the website completely ad-free. It also genuinely motivates me to keep drawing and pushing new ideas forward every week.

I’ve also joined Cara (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), a platform built specifically for illustrators, artists, and creators. What makes it stand out is its clear focus on handcrafted artwork. No overwhelming AI content, no noise, just real drawings by real people. If you’re an illustrator yourself or simply enjoy following authentic creative work, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Space Cop Diary continues. Go check it out before boredom gets the upper hand. Although… well, just see for yourselves. I’m slowly finding the rhythm of the story and getting more comfortable with the pacing and tone. The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you for that. It’s especially encouraging to hear that the rough, sketchy drawings are not only accepted but actually preferred over heavily polished versions.

You’re also very welcome to join InkFriday. The current prompts are available on kplx.art (Öffnet in neuem Fenster). If you feel like drawing, just pick a word and create whatever comes to mind. No pressure, just ink and ideas.

This week’s drawings:

A cup of hot coffee rests on the windowsill, with steam rising into space and blending with the surrounding cosmic void like mist.

Good Coffee (Öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Black-and-white ink drawing of a huge, overly complex coffee machine covered in pipes, gauges, and valves. Two very small people stand next to it. The person on the left delivers a long monologue in a large speech bubble:
“I’ve spent over thirty years refining this machine. Every bean begins in the bean classification array. Weight, color, density. Even the slightest deviation is removed. In the rotational alignment module, each bean is rotated sixteen times and its fiber structure precisely aligned. The aqua refinery unit filters and remineralizes the water, stabilizing it at exactly 94.2 degrees Celsius. Within the pressure regulation core, brewing pressure is calibrated in stages and continuously monitored. After exactly three minutes, every variable is accounted for. The result is good coffee. That’s it.”
The person on the right replies in a small speech bubble: “I prefer instant coffee.” (Öffnet in neuem Fenster)

Thanks for following along.

Have a great weekend.
