With a recycling rate of only three percent, Portugal currently ranks last in the EU. The new "Volta" deposit system aims to change that: since April 10, bottles and cans up to three liters incur a ten-cent deposit. France aims to accelerate energy transition
To move away from expensive energy imports, France is investing €240 million in the electrification of buildings and transportation. How light pulses could minimize industrial waste
The EU project METAMORPHA demonstrates how ultra-short pulse (USP) lasers are making industry greener: thanks to extremely short light pulses, material is evaporated without being burned.
