Junhwan Cha: “The most important thing is the emotion”

Junhwan Cha is Korea’s most successful male skater, winning medals at the ISU World Championships and ISU Four Continents Championships. After a strong start at the Kinoshita Cup, bad luck struck and Junhwan was struggling with boot problems that affected his performance in the ISU Grand Prix. We talked to him at the NHK Trophy in Japan. On January 3 and 4, he is competing at the Korean Nationals in Seoul.

How are you feeling now that the two Grand Prix events with all the difficulties you had to face are behind you?

Junhwan: To be honest, a little disappointed, but I think during the Grand Prix, I got a lot of energy from my fans, so I am very grateful for that. It is a shame because I have an issue that I can't control right now, but I think at this moment, I try my best.  I did everything that I can do to fix the problem, and at the competition, I did everything that I can do, so I can take it, and I want to recover from that and be ready for the second half of the season.
