Die ISU lässt Läufer/innen aus Russland und Belarus im neutralen Status für die Saison 2026/27 wieder zu. Sie dürfen bei internationalen Wettbewerben und ISU-Meisterschaften starten, aber ohne Fahne, Hymne, Teamkleidung etc. Wer das Neutralitätsgebot verletzt, den Angriffskrieg in der Ukraine aktiv und öffentlich unterstützt (hat) oder sich aktiv an Kampfhandlungen beteiligt hat, darf nicht teilnehmen. Diese Einschränkungen gelten auch für Trainer und anderes Personal.

Russische und belarussische Sportler/innen dürfen in Team-Wettbewerben starten, d.h. im Synchronlauf und an der World Team Trophy, sofern sie sich als “AIN Team” qualifizieren. Die ISU verweist bei ihrer Entscheidung auf das Vorgehen des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees und anderer Sportverbände sowie auf die Erfahrungen bei der Olympia-Qualifikation und den Olympischen Spielen in Mailand. Bei ISU Meisterschaften haben Russland und Belarus jeweils maximal einen Startplatz pro Kategorie.

Die Zulassung gilt aktuell nicht für Offizielle wie Preisrichter und Technische Spezialisten.

ISU readmits Russia and Belarus

The ISU has readmit skaters from Russia and Belarus to compete under neutral status for the 2026–27 season. They may compete in international competitions and ISU championships, but without a flag, national anthem, team uniforms, etc. Anyone who violates the neutrality requirement, who actively and publicly supports (or has supported) the war of aggression in Ukraine, or who has actively participated in military operations is not permitted to participate. These restrictions also apply to coaches and other staff.

Russian and Belarusian athletes may compete in team events—that is, in synchronized skating and at the World Team Trophy—provided they qualify as the “AIN Team.” In making this decision, the ISU cites the approach taken by the International Olympic Committee and other sports federations, as well as the experience from the Olympic qualifying competition and the Olympic Winter Games MilanoCortina 2026.

At ISU Championships, Russia and Belarus are each limited to a maximum of one quota place per category.

This readmission does not currently apply to officials such as judges and technical specialists.
