Hello dear Good News community,
Near my apartment, there’s a kayak rental station called GreenKayak. You can borrow kayaks for free—but with one condition: during your trip, you have to collect trash from the water. It feels amazing to do something good for the environment. But what happens to plastic kayaks when they break? They usually end up in the trash. Not necessarily—an initiative from France turns old kayaks into furniture.

Private New Year's Eve fireworks banned in the Netherlands from 2026
The Dutch Senate has passed a nationwide ban on private New Year’s Eve fireworks. From the turn of the year 26/27, only professional fireworks displays under strict regulations will be allowed. Greece introduces tourism tax on islands
Visitors to popular Greek islands like Mykonos and Santorini will now have to pay €20 per person. On other islands, a fee of €5 will apply. The government also plans to allow only smaller cruise ships in the future. A move aimed at better regulating mass tourism. Source: DAILY MAIL
